Waco has partnered with Bill gets welfare foundation for conducting 1700 cataract surgeries in gumla district of jharkhand "project Waco-eye care"focuses on preventable blindness through cataract surgery.
This includes cataract surgery,childhood blindness low vision,distribution of eyeglasses and eye health education,The approach we have followed is modern,scientific,holistic and most importantly individual care. The project tries to ensure restoring eye-sight through checkup camps followed by cataract surgeries and facilitating reduction of preventable blindness and in the long term the goal is to make gumla district free from cataract.
Waco has partnered with gramin kisan vikas mission for conducting 2000 high-performance liquid chromatography (Hplc)Thalassemia test in Rajkot region, gujrat .The main objective of the project are: Community awareness,counselling and making screening mandatory for the person of marriageable is an important part of the project as helps in informing the community about the disease,overcome the stigma of being a carrier of the disorder and prevent the spread of the disease in future generations.
It is estimated that 550000 people in India need kidney,liver and heart transplant,against we do only around 8775 transplants,which barely meets 1 to 2% annual demand for organs.The supply of organs from living donors. Will soon peak and the only way this program will be able to grow is through deceased donors. For some organs like heart and lungs,deceased donors are the only source. Hence,there is a need for augmenting deceased organ donation program in the country.Augmenting deceased organ donation program in partnership with Ganga saktipith Kalyan samiti which aims to address the problem like lack of readiness of medical fraternity etc . and create an enabling environment for organ donation in India.
An exclusive Waco Ganga saktipith Kalyan samiti helpline,a toll-free national helpline for organ donation is set up by gsks. This is for caller's from Pan India in six different languages for the purpose of dissemination of information on organ donation and transplantation.
We will also conduct training of transplant coordinators,intensivists,and young surgeon's in the area of orgon donation,organ retrieval and storage. In addition,volunteers will be trained as "Angel's of change "to spread awareness on organ donation.
The project will create awareness through our social media platform's and dissemination of knowledge through the helpline,pledging of organs by the public and Waco group employees trained number of coordinator,intensivist,surgeons,and volunteers to facilitate organ donation. It will help the entire country at large.
In today's world cancer has gained recognition as a serious health problem. The incidence of cancer in India 80to90 per 1,00,000 population. More than 70 % of cases are in advanced stage accounting for poor survival and high mortality. "Cancer is curable when when detected Early 'but in India,60-80 %of cancer cases in India are diagnosed late and 60% patients do not have access to quality treatment because of low income.
Palliative Care is fundamental to health and human dignity and is a basic human rights. The WHO (world health organization)defines Palliative Ca as an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing problems associated with life-threatening illness,through the prevention and relief of suffering,early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems,physical,psychosocial and spiritual.
At present Palliative Care reaches only 1%of those requiring end-of-lifecare. Patients suffering from advanced illnesses face distressing symptoms which are not limited to just the physical such as pain,fatigue,inability to eat and drink sleeplessness etc.they also suffer tremendously from the emotional,psychosocial,spiritual and interpersonal turmoil that debilitates them.
In the field of Palliative Care,Waco is working with intellect social council for the project Waco-Home Based Hospic and Palliative Care 'through this project,Waco is supporting for hospice and Palliative health care services to around 2000 patients of karamada block of coimbatore district of tamilnadu state.

This can be addressed using modern technology and innovative approaches. Providing medical services through mobile medical vans is proved as an effective model in remote areas. Keeping this in view,Waco has introduced Waco suraksha ,clinic on wheels 'mobile medical van,with Rural areas development organisation which is equipped with state of the art multispecialty health care facilities at the doorstep of remote rural communities.
Stringent- system and processes are followed in implementing this project to ensure that good quality primary health care services are catered to marginalized communities. About 6000 rural population from the selected 30 village of rangpoo village in East sikkim and raving in south sikkim district will be benefited with this initiative.
A number of children develop congenital hearing loss from birth and speech loss as an after-effect of hearing impairment. To bring such children to normal stream of life by implantation of cochlear implant,Waco has started a project for giving the gift of hearing and speech for 27 children in West bengal.
WACO has identified 27 hearing impaired children from West Bengal in the wait list for cochlear implant surgery. There are more children in the wait list from other states and based on the success of this project,Waco can scale up this project at the national level in the coming years . this cochlear implant surgery would help the children born with impairment to listen and speak.
WACO implements Project Shishu Raksha to curtail infant mortality &morbidity rate by providing complete health to the health screening to 400 children in Kovor Village and urban slums of Nellore Andhra Pradesh the project identifies deformities/diseases in children and provides required follow up treatment to the identified children through Rich Hospitals.
Living in jail it not easy and the condition of the jails leads to depression and negative impact on the health of inmates. To prevent and timely detect health issues among the female jail inmates,a comprehensive health check-up camp for 90 female inmates of Ghatwar Jail Jharkhand was conducted. The details of the findings were shared with the jail authorities for taking necessary steps.
Having access to sanitation is basic human right, yet the majority of the population in India suffer on daily basis due to lack of access to toilets. The absence of toilets leads to open defecation with untreated human waste,posing a serious risk to health.
India is known as a religious country around 60% of religious place do not have sufficient toilet facilities. This causes serious health and hygiene issues.in the past few years,due to increased accessibility and improvement in transport infrastructure,pilgrim centre have seen the phenomenal increase in the number of pilgrims.
It is a Waco project under this project Waco collects all the medical and physical information of an eligible couple through family register and spread an awareness programme of Hiv Aids among all the citizens to make their life comfortable.
